Our First Week!

What a great first day!!!

This week we will spend a lot of time working of procedures and setting up binders and folders. How far we get in each class will be dependent on how much time they need for organization and learning to follow the classroom routines, so the information listed is pretty generic. The classwork scheduled for this week is:

Math

Classwork: We will begin working on our whole number unit. Students will have a packet filed in their math folder and we should have several of the first pages complete by the end of the week.

Homework: Please make sure that your child is fluent with their multiplication and division facts through the 12s. If you need flash cards, they are available at the Dollar Stores, Walmart, and Target. Some of the websites located on this blog will also allow you to print flash cards at home.

Science
Classwork: We will begin working on the Cells and Microorganism unit. Students will have a packet filed in their science section of their toolkit. We will begin by learning how to use a microscope.

Homework: Please have your child set aside approximately 10 minutes each night to review/study the materials covered in class. They need to begin developing good study habits.

Social Studies
Classwork: We will not begin Social Studies until next week. We will just get the divider in their toolkits set up.

Homework: After we start class next week, please have your child set aside approximately 10 minutes each night to review/study the materials covered in class. They need to begin developing good study habits.

Please make sure that your child checks their book bag each night for supplies and make sure that they cover their social studies and science textbook for me.
